The first night of music at NXNE, curated by Cone McCaslin of Sum 41 was a roundup of relatively new bands that are worth a listen. I had the chance to photograph the night at Bovine Sex Club and move to the music.
First band was Ferraro, consisting of brothers who hail from the family that owns Cameron House (the music venue just down the street). They bring a flash of 50s vibe into a powerful pop rock sound.
Next to take the stage were the badass babes from Nobro. They drove all the way down from Montreal the same day and made the crowd hand bang to their gritty sound.
Sun K took the stage next and brought the fun with new song debuts and making the crow lose their spacial awareness to dance.
Hand to heart, there were two more bands that I sadly missed. As it was 1AM and with my morning park yoga waiting for me just hours away, I slipped out of Bovine. But I promise to check out more shows this week and will be posting more. Stay tuned!
